FRIIITZ!!!

Meet Fritz, our new German Angora rabbit! And before you say, "he's huge!!", please keep in mind that he is covered with several inches of poufy hair. He's just a giant cotton ball. His favorite activities are rearranging the bowls in his cage and freaking out the cat by sniffing it.

Can you periodically humanely harvest his hair to make yarn?

Hi Swamprad, yep, that is the idea. German angoras are generally clipped every three months. He's about due now, which is why he's so fluffy. Some other types of angoras sort of molt about every 3-4 months, so you just brush it out. Supposedly German angoras don't shed all at once like this, which is why they have to be clipped.

He's a pretty friendly and curious little guy. Just right for our house!

Thanks for the comments everyone! :)
