A visitor: Corn Snake Joe
We were recently visited by this most handsome fellow whom I believe to be a corn snake. I have named him "Joe". I hope he sticks around. I like snakes but have not seen many around our place.

Now you've gone too far, lol!
What? Don't you think he's handsome? (tee-hee-hee)
You have to have at least one pet snake around. Our is named George. Really not sure if is a male or type of snake. It is some type of black looking snake.
Well I don't actually know that its a male, but as every other pet I have is male (with only one exception out of 7 animals) I made an assumption. Here's a page about black snakes in the SE US: http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/UW251
Maybe you'll see George there!
That is a gorgeous fella! It does look like a male - a lot of times you can tell by the length of the tail - female is usually shorter and more distinct.
I do believe that what he is though is a juvenile black rat snake. Very closely related to corn snakes - he'll get darker as he gets older and the patterning will start to fade to black.
He'll eat any pesky birds he finds nesting around your place - especially pheobies.
off the wall like that? Crazy! I've never seen them vertical-ly. :)
Yeah, I was pretty impressed with that too. But then I remembered that there are snakes who can climb trees so I guess a nice textured brick wall must be reasonable too. Still looks cool though!! :)
